Gerard Nicol has received his first camera when he was 12 years old (a Kodak Brownie-flash). He naturally looked at landscape shots, and tried to show up their unnatural and unexpected sides.

After his university career in philosophy and psychology, he worked several years in industry and in mass marketing. Then, he managed during about 15 years the Lanester town cultural department, in Brittany.

He is now retired and continues his photographic creation on his main subjects : an ever attentive sight, a rejection for any conformist idea and the everlasting quest for hidden worth.
